Gonzálo Escribano, director of the Elcano Royal Institute’s Energy and Climate Program, assures that it is unaffordable for Spain to continue to be a European “island” in energy matters, with a very low percentage of interconnections, which weakens the country’s enormous potential as a key partner in the EU in terms of renewable energy.
